Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei has condemned the disruption of a press conference organized by pro-Deputy President William Ruto Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa ahead of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meeting in Mombasa.
Speaking to the press at her backyard, Shollei said that the incident is unfortunate, adding that BBI will not solve the problems facing Kenyans. She said that the chaos witnessed in Mombasa is a clear indication that leaders are no longer ready to tolerate each other.
"The chaos paints a different picture," Shollei said.
Irate Youths disrupted Jumwa’s conference in Mombasa claiming that they only want Uhuru, Joho and Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Before she was interrupted, Jumwa was talking about BBI rally that is to be held on Saturday in Mombasa. Jumwa said that she is not against the BBI but she fails to wonder why she can't express her views freely.
"Finally you hear them calling Uhuru and I don't know Joho something. This shows these are people who have not come in good faith but they have been sent. I am saying so because if I was talking with the media, where did Uhuru and Joho come from? And I have heard them clearly, you have intimidated us for long, here is only BBI, Joho and Uhuru Kenyatta. There is nobody against BBI, and I want to tell you that here's the full picture of BBI. You've come to know since these people can't hide. I am telling you, we will not be intimidated.
Na mimi nakwambia we will not be intimidated)" Aisha Jumwa said
