Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday hosted Algeria’s new Ambassador to Kenya Ms Selma Malika Haddadi at his Karen Office, Nairobi Country. The second in command said that they discussed a wide range of issues. He reiterated that the Kenyan government enjoys a cordial relationship with Algeria.
He noted that the countries share ties in education, health, gas exploration and oil areas among others. The DP said that the two governments are working to deepen their ties in the coming years.
"Kenya appreciates its longstanding friendship with Algeria, particularly in areas of education, oil and gas exploration and health. We aspire to deepen and widen this tie to cover housing and agriculture. @SelmaHaddadi," he tweeted.
Ruto also said that the Algerian government and Kenya are working on a partnership in the Agricultural sector. He noted that the main target is horticulture, tea and coffee. He further said that the government will ensure that there is a balance of trade between the two nations.
"So as to further spur Kenya’s economic growth, we are also seeking an expanded market access for our agricultural produce such as tea, coffee and horticulture as part of the Government’s efforts to balance trade between the two countries. @SelmaHaddadi," he tweeted.
