The 2018 Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education examinations results, which were released by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed, meant only two things for the candidates, parents and teachers; it was either celebrations or disappointment.
It was, however, a moment of joy for the family of Josphat Wagura after two of his sons who sat for the exams scored straight As.
Michael Muchai from Langalanga Secondary School in Nakuru scored an A plain of 83 points while his younger brother James Kiarie who was schooling in the giant Maranda High scored an A of 81 points.
Muchai was ranked at position 36 among the top 100 students nationally making the little known Langalanga secondary school at the outskirts of Nakuru town shine with the other national academic giants.
Speaking to the standard, Mr Wagura expressed happiness that his sons made him a proud father.
“I am so proud of them. They have not shamed us," said Mr Wagura.
The two brothers sat for their Kenya Certificate for Primary Education at Christ the King Academy in Nakuru before proceeding to their respective secondary schools.
Kiarie wants to pursue medicine while Muchai is aspiring to be a software engineer in the future.
