Responding to a social media user who asked him to return to the country and run for the highest office in the land, Miguna said it would be a 'waste of time' to participate in the polls.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant claimed President Uhuru Kenyatta controls the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and will allegedly use the agency to rig the election.

He also alleged that powerful security organs such as the National Intelligence Service (NIS) were in the hands of influential politicians and will be used to predetermine the next president.

"We are part of a revolutionary struggle for transformation. Vying for elections when the IEBC is controlled by Uhuru Kenyatta and his cronies and the NIS, military intelligence, police and bureaucracy are controlled by despots is a waste of time. Winners are predetermined," Miguna tweeted on Thursday.

In another post, the controversial lawyer said revolution was the only way to transform Kenya and observed he was playing his part by raising 'political consciousness' among Kenyans.

"Revolutions are transformative processes that restructure societies and make them just, equal and democratic. To be part of a revolution one must have political consciousness, which emanates from ideological clarity. My messages are aimed at providing that consciousness," he stated.
