Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has poked more holes into former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.
Mutua said the Wiper party leader lied to Kenyans that he is popular after he ferried supporters to attend his meetings.
“It should be noted that there has not been a regional meeting to declare who will be the Eastern region's front runner. The so called Koma meetings were organized by Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka where he ferried his own Wiper party supporters to declare him a presidential candidate,” Mutua tweeted on Wednesday.
He said the community is yet to endorse anyone for the seat.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader maintained that Kalonzo should take a back seat and endorse him to contest for presidency when that time comes.
“The region is yet to make a decision on who is electable nationally as the President of Kenya. With this confirmation that he is really just going for a deputy position, I again respectfully urge Hon. Kalonzo to support my presidential bid,” Mutua said.
Mutua has maintained that he is the best candidate from the Kamba nation to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta when the latter completes his second and final term in office.
