Senate Minority Leader James Orengo has joined a long list of politicians who have predicted possible winners in the ongoing World Cup edition in Russia.
The one month extravaganza will come to a close on Sunday when France face first time finalists Croatia in Moscow.
With Deputy President William Ruto placing his trust on Croatia, Orengo, who is among the 20 MPs in Russia, says he will be backing France.
"At the very start I talked about the other African team. Les Bleus. And Umtiti clinches the winner! Viva la France," he said when the team beat Belgium on Tuesday.
In his tweet, Orengo appears to have been backing African teams before shifting allegiance to France, probably due to high number of African emigrants in the team.
Also, his Rarieda counterpart Otiende Amollo, is among several politicians behind France.
"Having examined carefully, I can proudly say France is the team to beat."
Kenyans on social media took on politicians watching FIFA World Cup after it emerged that they were in the Russian capital at the expense of taxpayers.
France is seeking glory after 20 years of waiting while Croatia, regardless of the outcome, will leave Russia heads high after exemplary performance in their history.
