The Garissa County health department has issued an update on the progress of two pupils who were injured in an attack a few days ago, orchestrated by suspected Al-Shabaab militants.
In an update on Twitter, the Garissa heath department said the two are undergoing treatment at the Garissa Referral Hospital and were in the process of recovery.
The attack happened at Saretho Primary School and reportedly left four pupils dead.
"The two pupils who were injured in the Saretho terror attack that had 4 of their colleagues killed, are now in a stable condition and are recuperating at Garissa Referral Hospital," the health department posted.
In the wake of the deadly attack, Kenyan law enforcement agencies issued a notice to the public in which they identified Maulid Bilal as the mastermind of the attacks in Garissa County.
Bilal is said to be a Kenyan Ogaden and has helped organise attacks especially in Hulugho and Fafi.
He is still at large even as the law enforcement authorities launch a manhunt.
Kenya is involved in a military effort in Somalia alongside the AMISOM forces, in a bid to defeat Al-Shabaab that continues to pose a threat not only to Kenya but the East African region.
