Kenyan gospel artiste Kevin Mbuvi popularly known as Bahati on Friday came out to clear the air on allegations of joining Tanzanian top record label, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB).
WCB was founded by Tanzanian Bongo star, Diamond Platnumz.
Speaking during an interview on Milele FM breakfast show, Bahati insisted that he was still a gospel artiste.
"First I would love to begin by saying; (Kwanza ningependa kuanza hivi) my name is Bahati, I am a gospel artiste. I am saved, the Lord is my Lord and saviour that is Jesus," Bahati stated.
The '10 over 10' hitmaker was defending his recent frequent visits to the record label. According to Bahati, his trips to the record label which houses some of the greatest artistes in Eastern Africa is purely for commercial purposes.
"My visits to (Mimi kuenda) Wasafi, of course, is for the business relationship and you know with no doubt, Wasafi is one of the most successful record labels in Africa," Bahati noted.
Bahati who owns EMB records added that he gets a lot of advice on how to run his record label from Diamond who has gained a lot of experience from managing WCB.
The 'Ulivyonipenda' singer also admitted that the advice he has received from Diamond influenced most of the changes that he made at EMB records.
