Standard Digital reports that the governor has now been given a last chance to present himself before the committee to shed more light on how his government has used billions of shilling disbursed by the National Treasury since he assumed office in 2013.

The PAIC Chairman Moses Kajwang’ on Sunday said that Awiti will be expected to appear before the team on November 14 failure to which a warrant of arrest will be issued against him with immediate effect.

He also said that the governor has been snubbing senate summons, adding that the committee will no longer tolerate such characters from governors anymore.

The governor was asked to appear before the committee on April 14 but he staged no show citing illness.

“The governor now has the last chance to appear before senators. Failure to do so will lead to his arrest,” Kajwang’ said at Homa Bay Primary School during a farewell ceremony for the retiring ACK Bishop James Ochiel.

The senator said that they will seek the assistance of Police Inspector General Hilary Mutyambai to arrest the governor if he ignores summon again.

The Committee has also been seeking for the arrest of Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

Mutua has also been accused of misusing county funds in his office. He has, however, insisted that he is a clean man.
