The tensions between DP William Ruto's brigade and the ODM team over Kibra by-election escalated on Sunday with both teams trading barbs.
In what could put Suna East MP Junet Mohamed in trouble, the vocal legislator hit at Deputy President William Ruto, accusing him of voter bribery.
At a rally in Kibra, the Minority Whip accused Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet of allegedly bribing voters in Kibra against election rules, threatening to have him lynched.
Further, he accused Dr Ruto of bribing voters at his Karen home. Junet warned that the ODM team could storm the house and bring it down.
"I have heard that Farouk Kibet is dishing handouts here. If you come across him, just burn him. That's an election offence," he said, arguing that it's contrary to the law.
"Ruto is busy bribing voters at Karen home. That's a taxpayers house. Next time we see him, we shall storm the residence and burn it," he added.
His sentiments comes days after reports emerged that Karen residents has cautioned Ruto against hosting huge delegations in the area.
The DP has been using the residence to campaign for McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee candidate in Kibra polls. He will face Imran Okoth of ODM among others.
Jubilee leaders over the weekend also accused Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati of instigating the violence to stop them from campaigning for their candidate, McDonald Mariga.
They said that Woodley MCA Mwangi Njihia’s convoy was attacked by goons along Ngong Road before they could reach Kibra yesterday morning.
“Some goons attacked the MCA’s car by pelting it with stones and one person was injured. Luckily, the MCA was unhurt,” said Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir.
But Arati, during the Sunday's rally, accused Jubilee of insincerity. However, he warned that ODM will not tolerate chaos.
“These are false allegations by the Jubilee Party who are seeking cheap publicity by dragging my name to their woes. They should plan themselves properly and stop whatever they are doing,” said Arati.
