Migori Governor Okoth Obado is looking a jail term in the eye, with regards to his implication in the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
The Governor who was arrested on Friday after admitting to having been in a close romantic relationship with the slain beauty has since assembled a very able defence team, led by lawyer Cliff Ombeta.
However, here are some of the additional legal representatives he needs to fully argue his case, and possibly escape the looming jail term or hanging he could be condemned to if found guilty;
1.James Orengo
The Senior Counsel who doubles up as Siaya Senator has over time made a name for himself as one of the best lawyers in the county, his biggest achievement being his successful petition against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s first re-election in 2017.
With Orengo on his side, Obado can be sure of the best ruling, and even if he were to still be jailed, then that would be the only remaining option.
2.Otiende Amollo
Amollo is also one of the best legal heads in the nation, and collaborated with Orengo to quash Uhuru’s win on behalf of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He has been involved in many election petitions emerging from the previous poll, most of which he has gone ahead to win, and should as well be considered in Obado’s case.
