Self-proclaimed prophetess Mary Akatsa of Jerusalem Church located in Nairobi's Kawangware area is known for many things among them punishing worshippers who come to church late.
In June 1988, Akatsa was in the news after Jesus Christ was allegedly spotted at the church.
However, it later emerged that the man who resembled Jesus was not Him but an Asian missionary on a world tour.
Akatsa is known as a no-nonsense preacher and has been captured on camera slapping followers who do not follow the Bible teachings.
Akasta's church often shocks people as worshippers dance with corpses during funerals.
It is a rule here for worshippers to do dance with corpses before their burial as sign of their last respects.
But who is Mary Akatsa ?
Mary Akatsa was born in Bunyore, Emuhaya district of Vihiga county in Western Kenya.
