Former Subukia Member of Parliament has explained the circumstances that led to him receiving Deputy President William Ruto in Bahati, Nakuru county, on Friday.
The veteran politician who has not been in good terms with the DP was among the leaders who attended a funeral ceremony in Kiamaina, also attended by the DP.
Speaking on Saturday, he narrated how he was pushed forward by area MP Kimani Ngunjiri to welcome the DP, despite not having been aware of Ruto's attendance.
He said that he had been invited to the function by one of the priests, but would be notified that Ruto was on his way moments to his arrival, adding that it was not planned.
"Mimi nilialikwa ila sikuambiwa kama Ruto alikuwa pia anahudhuria. Ila nilipofika pale ndipo nilipoelezwa kwamba naye Ruto yupo njiani akija.
(I was invited just like anyone else and was in the dark with regards with Ruto's attendance. I would only know about it minutes to his arrival)," said the former political detainee.
"Alipokaribia kufika ndipo nilipoelezwa na Kimani eti tutoke nje nikampokee Ruto (the MP told me to go and receive him moments to his arrival)," he added.
The former Assistant Cabinet Minister was speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show Saturday evening.
He has not been in good terms with Ruto and the entire Jubilee Party leadership after crying foul in the party nominations for the Nakuru senatorial race in the 2017 elections.
He has claimed that he was somehow rigged out, before walking out and into the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement.
