Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has asked Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to intervene in an incident that left a police officer and bodaboda rider dead a fortnight ago.
Ongwae, speaking on Thursday evening when he Condoled with family and friends of the late Hesbon Nyanchoka of Bosoti Sengera ward, said Matiang'i's silence over the police shooting is unacceptable.
"I am not happy with detectives because they have failed to produce the police who shot dead Mr. Hesbon. I am therefore, calling on Matiang'i to intervene for the killer police officer to be arrested and taken to court," he said.
The ODM governor urged police officers to stop using their guns carelessly.
"We have criminals who police must flush out from the villages but it is regrettable police are targeting innocent people," he noted.
The county boss assured that his government is committed to ensure police officers deployed in the county are not lazy.
"I am not going to allow police officers who will turn to be killers to work anywhere in Kisii County," he added.
