President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed into law the amended Competition and Insurance Bills.
In a tweet on Friday afternoon, State House revealed that the head of state had signed the two bills into law at State House in Nairobi.
''President Uhuru Kenyatta this morning at State House, Nairobi signed into law the amended Competition and Insurance Bills,'' said State House.
The Competition Bill also termed as the Amendment Bill, will give the Competition Authority of Kenya powers to make sure that suppliers and buyers are in good terms with each other.
The Bill will allow the authority to review their terms making sure that the buyer doesn't abuse their power.
On the other hand, the Insurance (Amendment) Act, 2019, will make sure that policy holders are protected from their insurer.
The signing of the two bills was witnessed by Attorney General Paul Kihara, Acting National Treasury CS Ukur Yattani, Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua and Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly Jeremiah Ndumbi.
