Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti on Saturday launched a scathing attack against Senator Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen during Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report rally in Mombasa.
Speaking at the Mama Ngina Drive, Awiti said that Murkomen should know that the report is not all about the creation of positions.
He asked him to support the report for the sake of the growth of the nation in the coming years. Murkomen has been on record faulting the allies of the opposition leader for what he terms as a plan to block Deputy President William Ruto from ascending to power. Awiti, however, insisted that BBI addresses different issues and not just power-sharing.
“I want Murkomen to see that BBI is here... We are not here to talk about 2022 @KTNNewsKE #BBIInMombasa,” he said.
On his part, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos said that leaders who want to be part of the report popularization must be ready to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga. He reminded the allies of both leaders to support the report.
"If you respect President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila then you are welcome to BBI.(Ukiheshimu Rais Uhuru Kenyatta na Raila Odinga ndio utakaribishwa hapa BBI)” he said.
