Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has asked leaders from different political divides to learn to accept outcomes from elections. Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on the  Monday report, Kibwana said that it is saddening to note that most of the leaders in this nation never accept defeat after an election. He argued that all contenders of an election always assume that they must win an election.

"When there is no clear winner in an election, then everybody is a winner. We have not begun to accept the democratic outcome of an election in Kenya. No one accepts that they lost," he said.

He also asked leaders to form parties based on their political ideologies and not anything else. He said that a good number of parties in the country were formed based on tribal lines. The second time governor said that Kenya will not be a strong democracy any time soon if we continue doing things in this manner.

"Our political parties are not based on ideologies. Parties need to be crafted around a defined ideology, not a tribe. We also need to look at solving historical injustices," he said.

His remarks come ahead of the release of the BBI report by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga. This with evident political divides having different opinions on the legitimacy of the BBI report.
