His prominence sharply shot up upon being picked by President Kenyatta to take up the demanding task at the helm of the national prosecutor's office.

When his name was forwarded to the Parliament for vetting and approval, Kenyans across the divide were quick to say that his position had been influenced by his father Senator Yusuf Haji who also happens to be among the most powerful individuals from the North Eastern region.

It is his active participation and dedication in his role as the Deputy Director in charge of the Economic Crimes and Risks at the investigative agency that earned him his current position as the country's most feared and respected DPP.

This single attribute of Nordin Haji attracted President Kenyatta's attention and subsequent appointment at the Office of the Public Prosecution.

This notwithstanding, legislators were also impressed with Haji's stunning performance at the DCI and this is why they unanimously approved his candidature in a record time.

Since his assumption to office, a number of big fish have so far been netted with a good proportion of them cooling their heels in police cells awaiting trial and prosecution.
