A candidate in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has lost her life while giving birth in Homabay County.
Faith Atieno Ouko died during labor at the Homabay County Referral Hospital on Monday morning.
She was sitting her exam at Kakimba mixed secondary school in Suba North constituency before slipping into labor.
Homabay County Police Commander Marius Tum in a publication on Citizen Digital noted that the death emanated from complications at the time of delivery.
The death followed another one on Sunday morning where a boy lost his life after getting an injury during a game of soccer.
17-year-old Javan Onyango died after reportedly being kicked in the abdomen by a colleague while playing football at DC Mixed Secondary School in Rundung’ Village, the same county.
The boys were relaxing their minds after sitting their Fridays exams.
Another student at Atemo School in Rachuonyo East sub-county collapsed and died while playing soccer with friends days earlier.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening last week.
