A local politician based in Gusii region has claimed that Kenya's opposition party ODM is losing focus ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Rachael Otundo opposed ODM party's decision to expel two rebel MPs Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party following their association with DP William Ruto.
The vocal politician said Raila Odinga who is the party leader should put the party in order before 2022.
"Expelling the MPs is not a good idea given that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former prime minister is being actualized. ODM is slowly losing focus in the country's politics" she stated.
She slammed Mr. Odinga saying he should not keep quiet while elected leaders are being harassed.
"Raila must wake up to ensure politicians within the party are not mistreated. Jumwa and Dori didn't commit a crime which can't be forgiven. Their association with DP Ruto was as a result of the historic handshake," she noted.
Ms Otundo who doubles as the Gusii Governance Watch, a Human Rights Activists Group argued that ODM should focus on clinching the country's top seat in 2022 and not expelling elected leaders.
