The apex court restrained IEBC from ordering fresh gubernatorial elections in Homa Bay following Appeals Court ruling that kicked out petition launched by governor Cyprian Awiti.

Mr. Orengo, who become one of the first lead counsels to overturn Presidential victory, was part of legal team that lost in the appeal.

Judges Philip Waki, Fatuma Sichale and Otieno Odek upheld High Court ruling that found irregularities and illegalities in August 2017 outcome.

And Orengo along with Otiende Amollo, will now seek to save Awiti, who has failed in the last two appearances in court, at the Supreme Court.

Mr. Oyugi Magwanga, a former Kasipul MP, is being represented by Charles Kanjama.

Lately, Orengo has rarely lost a court case and Thursday's ruling was his worst outcome in as many months.
