Since the beginning of festive season, Deputy President’s compound in Sugoi has been an ultimate destination of politicians across political divide.
Ward Representatives, local Members of the Parliament, Senators and Governors have been meeting the DP to discuss various development matters and the 2022 succession politics.
According to insiders, DP Ruto will on Saturday be meeting his supporters including opinion leaders from his backyard, Uasin Gishu and neighboring counties.
More than 100 delegates are expected to attend a one-on-one meeting with the second in command to deliberate on development agendas.
The insiders who sought anonymity have further revealed that the meeting will address among others the thorny issue of maize farmers and calls of diversification that have received objection from a section of local politicians and farmers.
“There will be an exclusive meeting that involves youths from Uasin Gishu expected to meet the boss on critical issues. They will air their views in regards to development,” an insider privy to the DP’s schedule who sought anonymity said.
DP Ruto's meeting of locals in his home in Sugoi is among the series of indoor meetings that he has been engaging with leaders and influential persons a majority of who have ended up drumming support for his 2022 presidential bid.
"There are those hanging around, waiting for endorsements. How do you expect to be endorsed if you have no agenda or program for the country,” DP Ruto said in one of the recent meetings.
