Boda boda riders in Kisii County have insisted that they will not be scared by threats by Kisii County government to hire street children to smear them with faeces.
The riders led by their chairman Fred Nunda on Sunday while speaking in Kisii town said no amount of intimidation will succeed to stop riders to hold peaceful demos.
"Governor James Ongwae let him go ahead to hire street children to smear us with faeces. There is no way the county government will impose leaders to lead the boda boda sector," he said.
Mr. Nunda said boda boda riders are independent since neither the county government or the national government has employed them.
He warned street children against causing mayhem on Monday when the riders will go on a rampage to protest the county government's plans to change the procedure on monthly stickers application and forcing boda boda riders to accept leaders who have not been elected.
"We are not nurses Ongwae tried to intimidate with street children. As riders, we have agreed to take the street children and any county worker head-on. Our protests will be peaceful," he added.
