Politicians have been asked to desist from agonizing Kenyans over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Officials from Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) on Thursday expressed their feelings about the BBI issue.
They argued that the issue was causing unnecessary tension all over the country, adding that the debate was nothing but noise.
MYWO former chair Phoebe Asiyo said the recent remarks by politicians were scaring citizens.
"We are urging politicians to stop heaping trauma on citizens and think about the oneness of the country," said Ms Phoebe. Apiyo now wants the politicians to come out clearly on the primary motive of the BBI and the benefits that it will have for the nation at large."
"Leaders should lay bare the facts about the BBI. We need to know where it will lead us as a nation," she added on Thursday.
President Kenyatta has on several occasions stated that BBI's main agenda was to unite the nation.
MYWO present chair Rehab Mwikal pleaded with politicians to express their stand in a befitting manner whenever addressing each other.
"Differing in opinions is something that can easily be tackled in a more courteous way, especially when mentioning leaders like the president, deputy president and also former prime minister," she said.
