A delegation from the Deputy President Dr William Ruto's office have descended on Budalangi to mourn with the family of Sydney Mambala.

Sydney Mambala was hit by a car in the convoy of the Deputy President and later succumbed to injuries sustained while undergoing treatment.

The delegation was led by the Director of Communication in the Office of the Deputy President Emmanuel Talam.

Addressing members of the press after arriving, Mr Talam revealed that the deputy president had called the family at 1am to condole with the family and pledge his support.

"We are here on behalf of the deputy president to say sorry to the  family of Sydney who was involved in an accident and died. Theputy president called the family at around 1am to condole with the family. 

"He is disturbed by what happened and believes that the boy did not deserve to die. He has asked for an investigation to be done to establish exactly what happened," Mr Talam said.

The unfortunate accident happened as the deputy president was departing from Budalangi.

Felix Mambala, the father of the boy, confirmed that he had received a call from the deputy president who consoled him and pledged to cater for the funeral expenses.
