Speaking in Garissa during a commissioning event cum graduation ceremony at the North Eastern Technical College on Saturday, Duale disclosed that the parliament will review fees payable to such institutions by between 30 and 50 percent.

"We will also review their fees structure downwards by between 30 and 50 percent in an ambitious move that seeks to increase student population in these institutions. This will make it possible to take Kenya to a middle-income level economy with the men & women who will drive that agenda," revealed Duale.

The Garissa Township MP also added that the Jubilee government was committed to expanding tertiary and vocational institutions to boost development in the country.

"We have intensified the journey to transform and expand technical education so as to boost development in Kenya," he added.

The chief guest in the graduation ceremony was the Principal Secretary in the State Department of Vocational and Technical Education (TVET), Dr. Kevit Desai who presided over the function.
