It is believed the young girl was heading back to school when she got drunk.

In her defence, the student said she looks up to her drunkard mother as her role model and she's only following in the footsteps.

The video has attracted harsh criticisms from various stakeholders including parents from Eldoret.

"It is very sad to see how our children are perishing because of drug abuse. I have a son who is in form two at St. Joseph Kitale and I am so worried about my son. The government should take action against the parents of the girl so that it can serve as a lesson to other parents to take good care of their children," Peter Korir, a resident of Kesses village stated.

The parents are also demanding for a crackdown to be done on those selling cheap alcohol to under aged children.

"I don't entirely blame the parents, instead I blame those who are selling the alcohol to school children. They should be arrested or given a stern warning not to sell alcohol to under-aged children especially those ones in uniforms," Magdalene Cherono a mother of two and also a business lady at Talai market centre noted with bitterness.

Reuben Kibichii on the other hand demands for parents to work in collaboration with their children's teachers so as to discipline them.

"Discipline is a combined effort between the parents and teachers. I say this because I am a secondary school teacher and also a parent. So parents should ensure that they have handed over their child to teachers when schools are opening. Teachers, on the other hand, should monitor the child very closely and update the parents. As for the incident of the girl, the government should take action against the parents for being careless with their child," Kibichii commented.

Some of the social media users have sympathized with the girl saying she is a victim of poor parentage.
