Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has come out through his Twitter account announcing that he will be offering a student, David Mokenye Onyuoki from Duke University, an internship opportunity at his office.
The former Prime Minister further revealed through his tweet that the student had asked him for a chance when he (Raila) was on a tour giving a lecture at Duke University.
“Glad to welcome David Mokenye Onyuoki, a Political Science student at Duke University who will be undertaking his internship in my office following a request he made last October during my lecture tour to the institution and also received CAS @Rachelshebesh and @Hon_FatumaGedi,” he posted.
David who is a political science student wants to learn leadership skills from Raila. During his visit at their school, Raila had talked about corruption, terming it as a killer for African countries prosperity.
“I accept that it has been difficult to fight corruption on the continent. I admit that even in Kenya, where I have joined President Kenyatta in waging a campaign against corruption, many remain sceptical,” he said.
However, he noted that in many countries, people’s voices are being heard and that’s a turning point in fighting corruption.
