Residents of Mang'elete in Kibwezi East, Makueni County have demonstrated against the alleged killing of a 17-year-old boy by Kenya Wildlife Service rangers.
Led by former Ivingoni/Nzambani MCA Cosmus Nzilili, the irate residents on Monday stormed KWS offices at Mtito Andei and tabled their memorandum.
In the memorandum seen by this writer, the residents demand that the officers who murdered the boy be arrested and charged in court.
They also want the wild animals in human habitations to be removed with immediate effect.
The locals also state in the memorandum that residents killed, maimed by wild animals or had their produce destroyed should be compensated.
Benedict Kyule, a Form Four student at Kiuani secondary school was shot dead while poaching at Tsavo West National Park last Friday.
The deceased had three gun wounds on the arm, leg and chest.
His father a Mr. Kasangili said the boy called him on the fateful morning telling him he had been shot on the arm and leg.
Kasangili said his son asked for his help saying he was unable to walk.
He told the press that he was shocked to see three gunshot wounds when his son's body was taken to Mtito Andei police station.
"The mystery is, where did the chest gun wound come from?" he asked.
