Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has finally broken silence on the arrest of Nandi county Senator Samson Cherargei.
Taking the message to his Facebook account, Sudi has disowned Cherargei's sentiments saying that Rift Valley leaders are not of that opinion.
He argued that the senator should have apologized upon realising that he had made those 'inciting' remarks because everyone makes a mistake.
"First and foremost, as leaders from Rift Valley, we do not agree with what Senator Cherargei said. He ought to have apologized immediately he noticed his tongue had slipped. Personally, my tongue has ever slipped and I apologized. We, therefore, condemn such utterances with the contempt it deserves," read Sudi's post.
However, Sudi has challenged the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss to ensure that all those who have been linked to hate speeches charged equally.
"I want to ask DCI Kinoti to never be selective on how he is discharging his mandate," further noted Sudi.
Senator Cherargei was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly making inciting remarks where he warned that those fighting Deputy President William Ruto will be noted and their downfall will come.
“Those who are fighting the Deputy President, we (sic) are profiling you ... if you fight [the] DP you’re fighting us. Don’t think he doesn’t have supporters,” Cherargei said as quoted by Standard Media.
Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei had also refuted the claims stating that they were unfortunate and ill-intended.
