Economist David Ndii has yet again taken a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta's family, accusing them of being 'custodians' of corruption in the country.
Ndii, a former strategist in Raila Odinga's NASA, has rarely given the Kenyatta's a chance, when it comes to matters to do with corruption and maladministration.
In response to show host Tony Gachoka's tweet, Ndii dismissed assertions that it's Deputy President William Ruto who masterminds graft in government.
Mr Gachoka, a fierce critic of Dr Ruto, had named the Deputy President as one of the people who harbours corruption in government.
I want u to know that am tired of corruption. The country is suffocating as many in your government led by DP Ruto steal & steal millions. #DearUhuruKenyatta," he had written.
But the celebrated economist said that Uhuru's family is to blame for grand corruption in the country, adding that their level cannot match that of Ruto.
In the tweet, Ndii seemingly said that Ruto's approach is better because he 'gives back' to the society unlike the Kenyatta family.
"This jazz is not flying. When it comes to living off the fat of the land, the Kenyatta clan has no rivals.
"And frankly we’d rather the unpretentious crook who shares the loot, than selfish bloodsuckers who steal from us, despise us, and expect to be treated like royalty," he said.
In a previous response against Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, President Uhuru Kenyatta said his family is ready for audit, arguing that most wealth by his kin was acquired legally.
On his part, Dr Ruto has often dismissed corruption claims, asking those with evidence to report to court. He has never been prosecuted.
Uhuru is struggling to stamp his authority with the fight against corruption being one of his agenda. Jubilee government has recorded a number of scandals with NYS being the most popular.
