Eldoret Catholic Bishop-elect Rt Rev Dominic Kimengich has warned politicians against mixing the 2022 succession politics and Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
He says this will divide the country and might lead to chaos in the 2022 elections.
“Every time we have elections there is violence I thought BBI was to address this issues it should be separated from 2022 succession politics, if we put the two things together is not going to be good for the Country,” said Kimengich .
Kimengich who spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Wednesday urged politicians to deal with BBI issues separately then deal with elections later since some politicians will use the BBI report to get into power.
“If we continue the way we are going on now - and when we link BBI to elections - we shall go in the elections divided and we all know Kenya and we know how things go about and we have communities divided eventually there will be conflict and people will fight,” he added.
He said politicians should be cautious since the wounds have not yet healed urging politicians to unite the country their elections will be done peacefully.
He called on Kenyans to avoid politicians seeking to divide them based on political and tribal lines.
