Former chief of protocol at the Nakuru County government Mike Gitone is a man whose star is shining.
Gitone was the MC during the national Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium.
The celebrations were led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is a close buddy of ex-Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua whom he served as the chief protocol and ‘mceed’ during his functions from 2013 to 217 when Mbugua served as the county boss.
Mbugua is now the statehouse comptroller. While presiding over the national holiday, Gatone unleashed his deep voice and mastery of the Kiswahili to the amazement of many.
Gitone, 38, is married and a father of two.
His rise to officiate at presidential function shows that with discipline, dedication, talent and maybe a little connection can take one to higher places.
