Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday visited Usenge, Siaya County, but did not divulge his mission in the area.
In a tweet, he shared details of the tour, but focused more on his detour to Kakamega, where he had tea with friends.
"On our way back from Usenge, Bondo we passed by Kakamega where my friend, brother, classmate and roommate Prof Osogo John Ambani bought for us Tea and Chapati. Asante Sana omwami," he said on Saturday.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator recently narrated how he visited Bondo, the backyard of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, where he was given good reception contrary to his expectations.
"The late Otieno Kajwang' was my friend before he died. But because there was no handshake, I snubbed his funeral. I thought you'd deal with me," said Murkomen during a burial in Homa Bay.
"But now because there is handshake, I have come to mourn with the family. I knew I would get a nice reception. I was recently at Bondo and I also got a rousing reception until I was shocked."
Murkomen, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, has been leading criticism against Odinga, a defacto leader respected not only in Nyanza, but across the country.
