US-based Kenyan law scholar Prof Makau Mutua has said that he expected heads to roll after the United States of America (USA) denied former Attorney General Amos Wako and his family entry into its soil over graft.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Makau said that the US has sent a very strong message to the Kenyan government.
He also opined that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto must rethink about fighting corruption following the declaration from the US.
"Former AG Amos Wako banned by the United States over Corruption. I'd be shocked if more heads don't roll," he tweeted.
On Monday, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said that the US government had denied Wako, his wife and son entry into the country after they were involved in corruption dealings. The officer said that the ban takes effect immediately.
He also said that the decision to ban Wako from setting his foot in the US is a strong signal that President Donald Trump-led government has no room for the corrupt. He also said that Trump's government is fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta in the war against graft.
“The United States will continue to stand with all Kenyans as they strive to curb and punish corruption in Kenya," he said.
The Kenyan government is yet to respond to the ban
