Naivasha sub-county hospital has received Sh300 million meant to upgrade it.
Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui formed a technical team which will oversee the renovation of the facility.
“We have formed a technical team that will lead the Naivasha Hospital rehabilitation project spearheaded by Kengen,” Governor Kinyanjui said.
The rehabilitation follows a directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta when he attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Olkaria 1 well V1 and asked Kengen to give back to the local community.
The millions will be used to equip the hospital among other rehabilitation expenses.
Nakuru residents have been complaining over the presence of major investments in the area like Geothermal Development Company (GDC) but minimal corporate social responsibility activities to benefit the local community.
