Olunga scored twice for his Kashiwa Reysol side in the space of four minutes between the 65th and 69th minute as his team came from a goal down, to register the much needed 2-1 win against FC Tokyo.

The match was played at Kashiwa’s Hitachi Stadium, with the win leaving Kashiwa in second position in the group of the YBC Levain Cup with an inferior goal difference, compared to group leaders Vegalta Sendai.

Sendai beat Segan Tosu 3-1 in another group B match played on Wednesday. YBC Levain Cup refers to the Japanese Domestic Competition founded in 1992.

It can be equated to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Shield Cup in Kenya and the FA in England.

26-year-old Olunga joined Kashiwa Reysol on August 10 last year, making his league debut for the side against Júbilo Iwata on August 19.

On August 25, he became the first Kenyan to score in a Japanese top flight League (J-League) match as his side thrashed V-Varen Nagasaki 5–1.

The team currently plays in the Japanese second-tier league (J-League Division 2) after being relegated from the J-League in November last year.
