A Jubilee legislator has faulted critics of Deputy President William Ruto, accusing them of inciting residents against attending Thursday's Kisii Polytechnic graduation.
Deputy President William Ruto will return to the populous region amid resistance from a section of leaders who accuse him of launching ghost projects.
The DP will be the chief guest in Kisii National Polytechnic graduation, and is expected to also commission a number of projects in the region.
Nominated MCA George Mosiori asked residents to turn out in large numbers, dispelling fears that the function could be boycotted by a number of people.
"H.E William Samoei Ruto, our next President, shall on Thursday 17th October attend and grace the graduation ceremony at the Kisii Polytechnic. I urge all comrades and commissars to show up and in their numbers. Forward, Ruto, Forward," he said.
"Those reintroducing unnecessary debates should give us a break. We shall usher in the DP given that he has shown that he loves our people," he added.
It will be Ruto's 23rd trip to the region since 2017, the highest number of tours by any aspiring presidential candidate to the region in as many years.
While a number of MPs are supporting Dr Ruto, some of since joined the group led by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, which leans towards handshake.
Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire recently accused Dr Ruto of launching ghost projects, a debate which is likely to resurface on Thursday.
