Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo Mabona is happily married to Zimbabwean Magugu Mabona but what many do not know is that the Bible is what set the ball rolling between the two.
Speaking to Citizen TV’s Lilian Muli on News Makers segment on Friday, the vocal MP said that sometimes, the simplest of all things can make someone win your heart.
“Sometimes you win strong people’s hearts with gentles and simplest of things. When I saw him he was carrying a bible. That for me is great than anything,” she said.
“I know it is not the most romantic of things. He was good looking and you are not likely to see a good looking man carrying a bible and being Christian. Good looking, bible; that is amazing,” she said.
The MP also opened up on why she cannot get a child, saying the condition was caused by fibroids.
“I got married at 38 and 38 is not an easy time to get a child. I also had fibroids and fibroids ordinarily would make it very difficult for you so until I had it surgically removed,” said the second term MP.
Millie joined the political scene in 2007 after being nominated by ODM to Parliament.
In 2013, she was elected Mbita MP before recapturing the seat in 2017 shortly after the constituency was renamed Suba North.
