Deputy President William Ruto on Friday dug deeper into the opposition block with which he has been engaged in a terrible war of words lately.
Speaking in Vihiga county, the DP noted that the group drawn from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is out to derail the Jubilee leadership from its development agenda.
He termed the politicians who have been attacking him as 'time wasters' who have nothing important to offer Kenyans apart from criticizing him and the government for political gain.
He bashed the group for thriving in divisive and empty politics, saying that such kind of politics has no place in Kenya at this time.
“We want to work together on matters development. Don't bring us the division, confusion, and things that have no value for the people of Kenya," he was quoted by the Saturday Nation.
“What we don't want is politics of people masterminding things for their own selfish interests," added the DP.
Ruto noted that the government is committed to realizing its Big 4 agenda and will not allow itself to be derailed by the noises emanating from the opposition side.
"We want to unite this country and work for Kenya. The Big Four programme is our target. That is where we should put all our focus," he added.
The exchange which comes after a long political calm in the nation was recently revived by the DP and his allies when they questioned the authenticity of the ongoing purge on graft.
They have also questioned opposition boss Raila Odinga's sincerity in his truce with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
