Outspoken Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has slammed President Uhuru Kenyatta for his blossoming relationship with ODM leader Raila Odinga, terming the latter as someone who cannot be trusted.

Last year in March, Odinga signed an MoU with Uhuru, ending their nearly six years of political animosity that was manifested in the last two presidential elections.

"The MOU is here to stay. We are working hard to ensure all we agreed upon is adhered to. There were crocodiles in River Jordan and that's why I had to reach out to Uhuru so that we make a bridge," Raila defended the MoU at Kibra on Tuesday.

So controversial has been the new partnership, with Deputy President William Ruto openly accusing Raila of using the handshake to wretch Jubilee Party from within.

And at a funeral in Soy on Tuesday, Mr Sang wondered why Uhuru could work with Raila, who swore himself as president, a treasonable act under the Penal Code.

“You are now working with somebody who performed a treasonous act. Mr President, why are you putting us in this awkward position?” posed Mr Sang, referring to the mock swearing-in of Mr Odinga as ‘the people's president’ in January last year, reports Daily Nation.

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, who is in the middle of the storm over the dwindling relationship between Uhuru and Ruto, asked the president to invite all Jubilee members to solve any differences that could be existing.

“Mr President, if you have an issue with your DP, why don’t you call us as Jubilee leaders and we talk,” said Mr Sudi.
