Three Members of Parliament have vowed to hold protests in Ugandan next week until MP Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine is released.
The MPs from Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association led by its Secretary-General Babu Owino warned that they will launch a revolution with their Ugandan colleagues to push for the release of Bobi.
Speaking at Parliament buildings on Wednesday, Owino said they will not be intimidated by President Yoweri Museveni. He noted that they are not afraid of being arrested in Kampala.
“We have been arrested before and we do not fear Museveni. We will be taking a revolutionary demonstration to Uganda because it is high time things change in our neighbouring country. We cannot sit, and watch injustices being committed in the continent," said Owino.
The Embakasi East MP said that Museveni should portray true statesmanship.
“We cannot allow Museveni to kill the future of the youth. He has proved time and again that he is unsuitable to be in office,” he said.
He added that the demos will also be held in Nairobi.
His sentiments were echoed by Nyando MP Jared Okello who said that Wine should be released unconditionally.
