The woman was using the bridge which connects Molo and Michina area when the incident happened.

Witnessed said they saw the woman tumbling down and it was not clear what happened.

There were other conflicting reports, however, claiming that she was under the influence of alcohol.

Our efforts to reach the Kenya Railways for a comment were futile as we could not reach their spokesperson.

Edwin Onyancha, an elder in the area, cautioned residents using the bridge to be careful as its tyrods, angle brazing and nuts have been vandalized making it risky to use.

The Nakuru-Kisumu line bridges were built in late 1900 and marked for a lifespan of 150 years.

Vandalism has however left them in bad shape.

Onyancha urged those neighbouring the bridge to do community policing and report those destroying it as it is of help to residents.
