Witnesses said armed police officers whose identify is yet to be revealed on patrol assaulted the rider Johannes Okemwa on grounds that he was not wearing a reflector, helmet and shoes.

"Okemwa was ferrying a customer to KCB Bank when two police officers stopped him to inspect his motorbike. Okemwa defied the officers and speed off. Angered police officers chased after him, apprehended him and gave him a dog's beating," said Clinton Onchari.

Another witness Jackson Bosire noted that the victims screamed for help prompting the officers to scamper for safety.

"The officers escaped from the scene on realizing riders were teaming up to attack them," said Bosire.

A Boda boda official Vincent Nyaanga said Okemwa after the officers escaped stripped and walked naked.

"Traffic offenders should be taken to court. We are not going to condone any harassment from rogue security officers," said Okemwa.

Area police boss Francis Nguli said no report has been made over the harassment so far.

"Whoever who was assaulted should report to us so that we can probe the matter and ensure the officers are dealt with accordingly," he noted.
