Siasa Place together with JIACTIVATE will be conducting a three-day youth advocacy workshop. The workshop will be held at the University of Nairobi from February 7 to February 9.

Siasa Place is a political hub for women and youth where they learn about governance, the constitution and electoral processes.

Siasa Place Executive Director Nerima Wako-Ojiwa who doubles up as a political analyst says the workshop is important for Kenyan youths because it builds their capacity in creating formidable youth groups.

“My experience with youth groups especially those that work around youth issues is that they lack the capacity in building a framework or organizing. So, this year, we are big on building vibrant and formidable youth groups,” the executive director told Hivisasa exclusively.

The workshop will have participants’ engage in interactive training sessions that will bring to the fore the most effective methods and tactics of advocacy in Kenya.

They will also be looking into the country’s activism in regard to advocacy and explore ways through which the same can be used to effectively impact Kenyan citizens in this modern era.

“At the end of it, we want to hit our goal which is building capacity in our youths to better organize themselves because it helps them surge forward in achieving a common purpose in whatever it is that they set out to do,” offers Nerima.
