Kenyans have reacted after Jubilee Party's candidate for the Kibra parliamentary by-elections Macdonald Mariga was disqualified from the race.

On Tuesday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) invalidated Mariga's candidature. 

The IEBC noted that Mariga is not a registered voter in Kibra.

Mariga had been accompanied by former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale to the IEBC offices to present his certificate and also undergo the scrutiny process. 

His expulsion attracted the attention of Lang'ata MP Nickson Korir, said that they will appeal IEBC's verdict.
