Duale says that quitting politics will give Raila ample time to deliver on his mandate as the AU High Representative in charge of Infrastructure and development.

According to the Jubilee MP,  Raila’s new job requires a lot of concentration and co-ordination.

“I think it will be for his (Raila) good if he keeps out of politics and focus on his new job,” the National Assembly Leader of Majority said in an interview with a local publication.

Duale, however, said that it is Raila to decide on whether to continue politicking or not.

“He (Raila) cannot be forced to quit politics if he is not ready,” he added.

A section of politicians allied to Jubilee Party is pushing Raila to exit politics after landing the AU job.

The politicians among them Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi and Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu) says that Raila should quit politics and concentrate on his job.

Raila’s allies have, however, dismissed the calls insisting that the former Prime Minister  is in politics to stay.

The politicians argue that Raila’s AU appointment did not come with a condition that he should quit politics.

Raila landed the AU job last week and has since accepted the appointment.

Politicians across the divide among them Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have congratulated him for the big appointment.
