Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has joined other leaders and Kenyans in condoling the family of retired President Daniel Arap Moi as it mourns the death of Jonathan Moi.
Kabogo took to his Twitter handle on Saturday to express his condolences to the family of the retired President.
"My Heartfelt condolences to the family of my friend Jonathan Moi. May the Good Lord console the family at this moment of grief," Kabogo tweeted.
The former governor in his tweet added, "Our special prayers goes to Mzee Moi to manage the loss of a Son. Fare thee well my friend."
Jonathan died in Nakuru and his demise confirmed by Lee Njiru, Moi's long-serving Press Secretary.
According to Njiru, a detailed statement on Jonathan's death will be issued on Sunday.
Njiru has appealed to Kenyans to give the family the privacy it deserves during this sorrowful moment.
Several top politicians and Kenyans continue to sent their condolences to the family.
Jonathan was Moi's eldest son and a Safari rally driver in the '80s and '90s.
A famous businessman, the deceased quit Safari rally driving in 2000, two years before his father retired from active politics.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Raymond Moi (Rongai MP), Philip Moi, John Mark, June Moi, Doris Moi and Jenipher Moi are the deceased other siblings.
