Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has hit out at North Rift leaders saying that the fight against corruption targets a particular tribe or individual.
Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet County on Sunday, Mudavadi said leaders spreading propaganda that their tribe is being targeted are the enemies of the people and their aim is to divide Kenya.
“When auditor general gives audit report who has ever heard the auditor general saying that a Luhya has stolen, Kikuyu has stolen or a Kamba has stolen, he does not talk about a tribe but the office such as of the Principal Secretary , Cabinet Secretary which did not use the money well,” said the ANC party leader.
Mudavadi called on the leaders to stop politicizing the matter, but instead leave the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct their investigations and if they are innocent, they will be off the hook.
This comes after leaders from the North Rift led by Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi and Nandi Governor Stephen Sang said that the fight against corruption by DCI is targeting the Kalenjin community.
“When a person stands here and says auditor general or investigator is targeting a particular tribe in the fight against corruption that is total lies and propaganda,” he added.
