South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has welcomed Kenya footballer McDonald Mariga into join politics.
Osoro while speaking in Entanda village, Tabaka ward on Monday evening said Mariga should be guided in matters politics.
He said his entrant into politics has nothing to do with betting.
"I hear some politicians are opposed to Mariga's entrant into the Kibra MP by-election. It is important for Mariga's critics to know that should Mariga win he cannot push for betting as he has been doing. He will be an MP serving the electorates like any other lawmaker. Let him vie and try his luck. I wish him well," said Osoro.
The youthful lawmaker dismissed claims that Mariga is Deputy President William Ruto's project in the upcoming Kibra by-elections.
According to Osoro, Jubilee Party made a wise decision nominating Mariga to run for the Kibra MP seat adding that opponents from ODM Party and other parties will get the run for their money.
"DP Ruto does not issue nomination for candidates in Jubilee Party. Let those dragging DP Ruto's name into Mariga's entrance into politics keep off. Ruto is not the constitution that allows people to vie for political seats," he added.
The vocal MP appealed to youths in Kisii county interested in politics to join and try their luck.
